Seasons Greetings!
Another year of coring is over. The number of HTH-users is growing and
it is very pleasing to note that the interest is
increasing in regions previously considered as white spots on the HTH
map. We are convinced that this has very much to do with the positive
feed-back that we are getting on the performance of the corers and the
fact that there has been some great publications out during 2008
on the corer, such as the
the article in JOPL, written by professor
Ingemar Renberg and
Hans Hansson.

It is articles like this, together with the user feed-back from
reknowned research facilities that strengthens the
reputation of the HTH corers as the preferred choice for researchers.
With this, we wish all of the
HTH-users out there a Merry Christmas and a great New Year!

More information on the record depth cores in Lake Tahoe described
by Dr Dan Engstrom, April 28; The Project was lead by
Paul Drevnick, post-doc at the Woods Hole Oceanografic Institution, USA.
Paul Drevnick has currently a manuscript in review regarding the work.
Many thanks to Dr Carl Lamborg for the information.

Record depth noted for
the HTH Corer! Dr Dan Engstrom, director of the
St. Croix Watershed Research Station, Minnesota, USA,
has been kind enough to provide us with some thrilling information: In
the summer of 2007, one of his graduate students used their
70 mm HTH corer on Lake Tahoe, California / Nevada. This is the second
deepest lake in North America and the cores were
recovered from 400-450 meters depth! And perfect cores they were, too!
Many thanks to Dr Engstrom for the information!
This is indeed the deepest
recording we have heard of thus far. Have you got information of cores
being recovered from even greater depths?
Send us an e-mail and tell us all
about it!

As a clear indication of the firm scientific foundation that the HTH
Sediment Corer rests upon, the Springer publication
Journal of Paleolimnology has published an article on the HTH
Sediment Corer. The article is written by professor

December 31, 2007:
2007 was a successful year for the HTH Sediment Corer. The number of units
sold increased compared to previous year and it is particularly
pleasing to see the increase in units sold in North America, where some
of the most prominent research facilities have embraced the HTH Corer.
October 5, 2007:
The introduction of the Super Corer. When you need to get longer
sediment samples, up to 1 meter, with perfect quality, we are now
proud to present the Super Corer, based on years of research and
development. This tripod gravity corer offers problem-free coring with
undisturbed samples as result, in a way that few if any corers can manage.
In addition, it shares some of the unique features of the
HTH corer, such as the extruding mechanism and the sectioning tray.
